Bits and Pieces

Since you know I'm on a kick of stitching I wanted you to know about a crazy fun contest from Dragon My Needle
It's called "Totally Useless SAL" you collect thread ends, snips of fabric, broken buttons, bead or two, worn out needles, floss skein labels, whatever as long as it is, or was going to be part of a stitching project. It must be a new collection starting now through December 19th, 2009.
Each month, on the date of the New Moon, or very shortly thereafter, you post progress pictures of your Totally Useless SAL on your blog. You may or may not describe a few of the interesting new items in your container. (If you do not have a blog you may send your pictures to DragonMyneedle.blogspot.com and she will post them for you.)
Leave a comment on her blog to get started!
I just picked up the BH&G creative collection special Bags, Pillows and Pincushions
OMG!!!!!! Soooooo many many lovely things to do and try!
Rosebud Cottage - a link to the woman who created a few of these wonderful ideas and patterns!

I want to make everything in this magazine!

ps. I'm STILL working on my beach books. I need the right kind of bubble wrap, I can use the kind that comes in rolls, but being a bit frugal (cheap) I'm going to get a bubble mailer and use that in my pages, I used one mailer I already have and it seems to work perfect! So I've been working on the front and inside covers, now.

Oh and I just have to share! A mourning dove has nested in my ole hanging basket out on my front steps. It has an oooold coconut liner that over the last two years birds have just been taking bits and making a nest somewhere else. Yesterday she had one egg and today I see another! 14 days and the eggs will hatch to fledglings. I love nature!
