Pocket Memo Board

This pocket board was made a while ago but I thought it was an easy project. One I found inspiring. I took left over styrofoam, covered it with batting and took my extra fabric starting at the top. I took the top of the fabric and staple gunned it to the board. Then folded a pocket up with the fabric, I continued all the way down. I pinned the pockets so that I knew how many pockets I could get before the end and bottom of the fabric. Also, some pockets are deeper than others. Then I turned it over and pulled it taut and continued stapling it as I went down.
I've made a different one with particle board, and another I made with an old canvas. I can't stick pins or tacks in the canvas one but the pockets work good enough for me.

Here's the results of my project of the day!
I was going to use Ziploc bags but I didn't have the right size. I remembered I had these bags I kept from my curtains. (Yeah, I save a lot of stuff, I've gotten better over the years and several moves. Heh!) I also know I'm not the only one who saves their zipper bags from their sheets, curtains, drapes, comforters, etc.
You know who you are! ;)
Anyway, I used the bags, ribbon and those curtain hooks you can buy for cheap. All leftovers! I just used double sticky dots to stick the ribbon to the plastic.
So now I'm done with Mission Organization. Let's move on to a February filled with Love, Laughter and Crafts!!!!!!!

Pics for a Krafty Kreative space

I've been organizing and re-organizing my craft room/guest room. I don't like having my crafty materials (I'm a bit of a clutter-bug) out since it is a guest bedroom. Seriously, I have to throw it in the closet on the ole' diaper changing table (which is now a craft storage table). I've scoured mags, blogs, websites. ugh! I couldn't figure out how to organize all my little scrap pieces of paper! Buy more bins? NO- Buy more baskets? NO- I'm a visual person. I want to have it color coordinated. If I can't see it, I don't wanna dig for it! No pockets, no folders. Yes, if it's outta site it's also outta mind. So I talked to my friend and she said, "Kaye, just use big ziploc bags!" So I am on my way upstairs to throw my bits and pieces into them bags... And I have a crrrrrrrafty idea for hanging those bags up. Will be back later with pics.... As long as the kiddies let me do this little project.... Wish me luck! Ha!

Meanwhile- this is what I did find- this is what has sleep deprived me, made me daydream a little too long and covet a bit.

January 26, 2009

This is the last week for January Re-organization Resolutions. I am constantly seeking organizational items that keep me organized and that I actually use daily or weekly! Dormbuys.com has a lot of organization items for a very cheap price! I love this Magazine/Book etc. holder! It's on clearance for 15.49, got to order that! There are some neat dry erase stickers and dry erase wall paper squares for your wall. On a different note, I'm still stitching away on my February Sampler. But I have been itching to Paper Craft a few things I've been seeing on some of these wonderful blog tutorials! One favorite is: Toyzhaven.blogs.splitcoaststampers.com
I got one of my Dollar store wall stickers up, I'll get some pics and try to get those on here tomorrow afternoon.
We are to have a good snow here so I'm hoping to not have to go anywhere for a couple days, (wishful thinking!) Ok, here I go to crafty something since the kiddies are in bed and it's not my bed time.....yet.......
